Adding a Sub Group

The information in this topic relates to the new Groups functionality that was introduced with LearnCenter Release 14.6 in August of 2012. If you are looking for help with the classic Groups functionality, refer to Classic Groups.

Once you have created some Groups, you can indicate whether some of them are Sub Groups of other Groups.

On the ControlPanel:

  1. Click  on the Users menu to expand it.
  2. Click Groups.
  3. User the Filter section to locate the Group you want.
  4. In the Results section, click the name of the Group, or rest your pointer on the Group row, and then click . The Group window opens.
  5. Click the Sub Groups tab.

The parent Group's sub Groups are displayed here. You can view the User Count and number of Sub Groups those Sub Groups have.

The Sub Group and User Count columns reflect the immediate child counts. They do not count the infinite hierarchy.

You can display additional columns of information on this page by clicking Set Columns and selecting the appropriate check boxes.

  1. Click Add Sub Group. The Find Groups window opens.
  2. Use the Filters section to locate the Group you want to become the sub Group and click Search.

  1. Click the check boxes next to the Groups you want. The Group selector prevents you from adding a parent as the child of another Group in the lineage.
  2. Click Return Selected. The Sub Groups are added to the parent Group.
